How to Create and Deploy a Database Tool Integration

Before setting up the Database Tool integration, ensure you have met the following requirements:

Administrative Access:

  • You must have Administrator permissions within your AidEun organization to access Tool Administration.

Database Credentials:

  • Database host server address/URL and port number.
  • Database name.
  • Database username and password with appropriate read/write permissions for intended operations.

Network & Security:

  • Database server must be accessible by AidEun with proper firewall whitelist rules enabled if protected behind network security groups.

Phase 1: Launching the Setup Wizard [00:00:00 - 00:00:52]

Step 1: Access Tool Administration [00:00:15 - 00:00:32]

  1. Open the Settings menu.
  2. Select Tool Admin to manage organizational integrations.

Security Note: Only users with Administrator permissions can view and configure Tool Administration settings.

Step 2: Initiate Tool Creation [00:00:33 - 00:00:52]

  1. Click Create Tool.
  2. Select Database as the integration method to launch the Database Tool Setup Wizard.
  3. Provide a clear Name and Description for the tool so users can easily understand its purpose.
  4. Click Next or select Step 2 from the wizard menu.

Phase 2: Connecting and Selecting Schema Objects [00:00:53 - 00:02:08]

Step 3: Configure Database Connection Details [00:00:53 - 00:01:24]

  1. Enter the required parameters: Server Name, Port Number, Database Name, Username, and Password.
  2. Click Test Connection to verify AidEun can successfully communicate with the database.
  3. Once the connection test succeeds, click Next.

Step 4: Map Database Tables and Views [00:01:25 - 00:02:08]

  1. Review the automatically generated database schema displayed by AidEun.
  2. Select the specific tables and views you wish to expose to users and AI assistants.
  3. Click Finish to complete the tool creation process.

Important: Select only the necessary objects to maintain proper security boundaries and data governance over your environment.

Step 5: Add Tool to Organization [00:02:09 - 00:02:23]

  1. Locate the newly created tool in Tool Administration.
  2. Click Add to Organization to make it available for configuration within your tenant.

Step 6: Configure Role-Based Permissions [00:02:24 - 00:03:09]

  1. Click Configure on the tool entry.
  2. Assign permissions individually or select multiple operations simultaneously to define which user roles can perform specific database actions.
  3. Save the role configuration to deploy the tool for your organization.

Phase 4: User Workspace Activation & Usage [00:03:10 - 00:03:58]

Step 7: Activate Tool in User Workspace [00:03:10 - 00:03:30]

  1. Navigate to My Tools in the user interface.
  2. Click Browse Marketplace to see approved organizational tools.
  3. Click Add to My Tools on the Database Tool to activate it immediately without extra setup.

Step 8: Utilize Database Integration [00:03:31 - 00:03:58]

  1. Access the database tool directly inside conversations, workflows, automations, and AI business processes.
  2. All operations executed through the tool will automatically enforce the permission boundaries set by administrators.
